When I was growing up, my parents didn't have high regard for the arts and artistic types. For that, I didn't lend much, if any, attention to the amount of skill and care that goes into creating works of art. Now, to be able to look at a blank canvas or a block of stone or wood and see the masterpiece begging to be released is a talent I could only dream of possessing. Artists and artisans, in my opinion, include painters, sculptors, authors, writers, bakers, chefs, craftsmen of every material (metal, wood, glass, etc.), architects, weavers, designers of all types, musicians, songwriters, actors, fellow photographers, and the list goes on.

A trademark character trait of many creative types is being introverted. (I am counted among that number.) Also, creatives tend to let their creations speak for them. For this reason, we take great pride in our work and see it as a reflection of ourselves. We pour ourselves into our work while possibly hiding behind it.
