Why I’m a PPA Member and Certified Professional Photographer; And, Why That Matters to You
In a world where anyone with a camera can call themselves a photographer, certification matters. So does community. That’s why I’m proud to be a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and to hold the designation of Certified Professional Photographer (CPP)—a credential earned through rigorous testing, technical evaluation, and a commitment to excellence.
But what does that mean for you?
1. It means I’ve been tested—and trusted.
The CPP isn’t just a badge. It’s a benchmark. To earn it, I had to pass a comprehensive exam covering everything from lighting and composition to post-production and printing. I also submitted images for technical review—because it’s not enough to take a pretty picture. It has to be technically sound, repeatable, and intentional.
2. It means I’m backed by a professional community.
PPA is the largest nonprofit photography association in the world, with over 30,000 members. Through it, I have access to continuing education, legal resources, and a network of photographers who are just as committed to growth and integrity as I am. That means I’m not just working for myself—I’m working with a standard that’s bigger than me.
3. It means you’re hiring someone who values trust over trends.
Whether I’m photographing your family, your wedding, or your home, I bring the same philosophy: no illusions, no guesswork—just honest, polished work that stands the test of time. My CPP credential is one more way I hold myself accountable to that promise.
When you hire a Certified Professional Photographer, you’re not just getting a camera. You’re getting commitment.
Let’s create something worthy of your legacy.
